Description: Class A (non-blanketing) fire fighting foam for the suppression of fire involving Class A (normal) combustible materials. Certified as compliant with NFPA 11.

ImportantFeatures:

Operating Considerations: Class A firefighting foams are designed to serve as a wetting agent that reduces the surface tension of water, thus allowing water to penetrate into deep-seated fires involving ordinary combustible materials commonly encountered in wildland and structure fires.

- Mixing rates of Class A foams in water are typically 1% concentration or less.
- Systems for application may be similar in nature to those used for Class B foams (see 03SF-01-FODS).


Training Requirements: Firefighter I and Firefighter II training IAW NFPA 1010.
Initial Training: Minimal (<1 day)
Sustainment Training: Minimal (<1 day)
