Description: Administration devices and portable storage/refrigeration systems for storing and delivering blood for administration by providers pre-hospital.

ImportantFeatures: Should be battery-operated and/or operate on AC or DC power source and be durable for the field environment.

Operating Considerations: Temperature controlled/refrigeration systems will require close temperature monitoring, alarms for out-of-specified temperatures, and a means of recording temporal trends in temperature. IV sets designed for blood administration can be used with IV warming equipment that is also battery operated.

Training Requirements: Core Training: ASTM F1031-22, NFPA 450, NFPA 470 (within medical scope of practice).
Initial Training: Minimal (<1 day)
Sustainment Training: Minimal (<1 day)
