ImportantFeatures: High definitation (1080p) now widely available. 4K is available in most models.

Composite TV signal compatibility desirable.
Component video and S-video input. HDMI, DVI, and Mini-Display input for HD projectors.

Operating Considerations: Extremely high number of product choices, overlaps with consumer products.
Consider mission requirements and video recording capability. Recommend minimum of 1080p for projectors to prevent near-term obsolesence.
Consider checking an independent product testing/comparison source such as Consumer Reports® prior to purchase for a complete description of products and technologies.
Check lumen and contrast ratings, particularly if operation will be in areas of high ambient lighting.
Check bulb life rating and bulb replacement cost.
Operation in high heat environment can adversely impact bulb life.
Determine if there is a need for 'short throw' capability, where the projector does not need to be placed at a large distance from the projection surface in order to project a large image. This capability is necessary for smaller rooms where a large projected image is needed.
